Conferences@UVA is pleased to offer affordable single-occupancy dorm rooms on-Grounds for guests attending the the 2024 KUH Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium.
Dorm accommodations are available from Wednesday, July 31 through Saturday, August 3, 2024.
The deadline to register for these on-Grounds accommodations is Wednesday, July 17, 2024.
Accommodations
Affordable hall-style single-occupancy rooms are air-conditioned and located at the International Residential College (IRC), adjacent to Alumni Hall where the symposium will take place.
Please note that these buildings do not have elevators. If you require a medical accommodation, please contact conferences@virginia.edu so we can best assist you.
These student rooms are a no-frills alternative to a hotel. Bedrooms are located in a hall-style building and are furnished with lofted twin XL beds, desks, dressers, and wardrobes Bathrooms are in the hallway, and are shared with other guests of the same gender..
Bed linens, blankets, pillows, and bath towels are NOT provided. Guests are responsible for supplying their own bed sheets (twin XL size), blankets, and pillows, as well as their own towels, and toiletries such as soap and shampoo. Rooms are not equipped with other hotel-style amenities such as hair dryers, irons/ironing boards, hangers, or area lamps (overhead lighting only). Guests must provide their own, if needed/desired.
Check-In and Check-Out Information
Check-in will take place on Wednesday, July 31 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the IRC dorms, in front of Munford House. If you will arrive outside of these hours, you will need to contact Lena Garrison at 434.760.0823 to arrange pick-up of your key.
The latest possible check-out is Saturday, August 3 at 3 p.m.
There will be a $25 charge for room keys that are not returned at check-out.
Pricing
Single-occupancy rooms are offered at a rate of $41.00 per person, per night + 5.3% sales tax.
Parking
If you are bringing a car, limited free parking is available at Alumni Hall, which is next door to the dorm buildings.

Make Your Reservation
You will need to enter a reservation code provided by the program at the time you make your room reservation. All room reservations must be made online with a valid credit card. Payment is due when you make your reservation.
The deadline to register for these on-Grounds accommodations is Wednesday, July 17, 2024.
Changes and Cancellations
All cancellations and/or changes to the number of nights in your stay must be made at least 14 days prior to your reserved check-in date to avoid a penalty. A cancellation fee of one-half the nightly rate will be applied for each night and each room cancelled after that date. Cancellations made less than seven (7) days prior to your check-in date are not eligible for a refund.
Use the 2024 Room Reservations Change and Cancellation Form to make any changes to your existing reservation. Be sure to select "KUH Undergraduate Research Symposium" in the dropdown box beside "Program Associated with this Reservation."
